We seem to be having a very wet June.† My garden is loving it.† I go outside every morning and it seems like more things are growing higher and higher.†
As we move toward the longer days, it is wonderful to be able to see the daylight up until almost 9 at night.† I get up to daylight and come home to daylight and even have time to enjoy the garden before itís time to retire for the night.†
Iím fairly certain I paid attention to the seasons before I had a yard, but I just donít remember.† Iíd rather watch my tiger lilies bloom.
Hearthstone meets the Friday before or the Friday of the Full Moon at the First Unitarian Church at 14th and Lafayette in Denver. The church doors open at 7, and we like to start at 7:30.† (We are NOT big proponents of Pagan Standard Time, but if there is weather related driving trouble or a problem on the freeway, we've been known to wait a bit longer.)† This month's ritual is FRIDAY, JUNE 17, 2005.
Remember, please, that Hearthstone doesnít expect everyone to enter in Perfect Love and Perfect Trust, as there are people you don't know there, but to enter with a willing heart and an open mind, and leave your differences at the door.†
Some traditions are more controversial than others, or may contain a component that disturbs someone attending an Open Full Moon. It is one of the risks of exploring different traditions. Should anyone be uncomfortable, unsettled, or upset about any ritual presented by Hearthstone, please contact Alia to discuss -- and hopefully resolve and heal -- the issue.
On June 17th join Kestrel in the celebration of the fairy moon of the English Village Tradition. We will visit the Wildwood and watch the power of the Gods at Litha and their ability to transform our worldview. This will be child friendly though there will be a meditation during the ritual. Be prepared to sing and dance and enjoy cakes and wine in circle. Come with an intent to adopt the power of change and welcome joy into day-to-day life.
For Hearthstone's May Open Full Moon celebration, we offer Thanks and a Tip of the Hat to Kath and friends for our May OFM, a celebration in song of the circles and spirals in our lives and in nature. We chanted "We are a Circle within a Circle, with no beginning, and never ending." We danced a spiral dance, and raised energy for healing ourselves and for Mother Earth to use as She needs. Thank you Kath!
We appreciate that many of you donate to the church.† With your contributions, we have reached the point where the church is preparing to set policies for assisting those in need.† The more you can spare, the more we can help those who need it.
We arenít going to start collecting at the door, and no one will be turned away for not having a donation.† However, we would like to suggest a donation of 4 to 7 dollars per person.† (The extra is to cover the pagans that are unable to donate.)† If you canít afford it, you are still welcome Ė if you can afford more, weíd be delighted to accept it.
NOTE:† Hearthstone is a church and your donations to Hearthstone are tax deductible. If you would like to write a check so you can keep track of your donations, we can certainly handle that as well.
