Wow!† The Wheel spins on and on.† Itís almost July, and I donít remember much of June.† Of course, much of that time it seemed to be raining (thank goodness!).† Itís wonderful seeing the world around here become so green and growing.†††
Hearthstone meets the Friday before or the Friday of the Full Moon at the First Unitarian Church at 14th and Lafayette in Denver.† The church doors open at 7, and we like to start at 7:30.† (We are NOT big proponents of Pagan Standard Time, but if there is weather related driving trouble or a problem on the freeway, we've been known to wait a bit longer.)† The next ritual is on Friday, July 2nd.
Remember, please, that the policy at Hearthstone is not to enter in Perfect Love and Perfect Trust, as there are people you don't know there, but to enter with a willing heart and an open mind, and leave your differences at the door.
This ritual will be a traditional dragon rite, based on the roots and foundations of Dragon tradition. Come join me as we bring alive the dragon within us all. Unfortunately, my coven can not join me so I will be calling upon some of you who wish to help with quarters and a few other things as needed. Come and enjoy the presence of dragons. Cakes and wine and music to follow; please feel free to bring your instrument.
for Late April:
Thanks and a Tip of the Hat to Livy, Rose and Cathy who presented our April 30th Open Full Moon, assisted by the beautiful maidens Caitlin and Kaitlyn.† The theme was connections to one another and the earth, and we cast the circle hand to hand, followed by a meditation. In celebration of Spring we did a wild, laughing spiral dance and raised a spinning sphere of energy that exploded in droplets of cleansing energy that washed and energized us. Thank you Livy, Rose, and Cathy for leading us in joyful celebration!
Thanks and a Tip of the Hat to Draconis Leona, Eric V., 9and3quarters and friends for our May 28th Open Full Moon ritual. The three faces/ages of God and Goddess were invoked: Maid/Mother/Crone and Page/Father/Sage. In this ritual we gathered together the many ingredients needed to create a healthy, trusting, communicating community. Thank you, Draconis Leona and friends, for reminding us all to contribute positively to create a high-quality spiritual community.
We have determined that our break-even point is about $4 per person.
We arenít going to start collecting at the door, and no one will be turned away for not having a donation.† However, we would like to suggest a donation of 4 to 7 dollars per person.† (The extra is to cover the pagans that are unable to donate.)† If you canít afford it, you are still welcome Ė if you can afford more, weíd be delighted to accept it.
NOTE:† Hearthstone is a church and your donations to Hearthstone are tax deductible.† If you would like to write a check so you can keep track of your donations, we can certainly handle that as well.
As Americans, we live in a representative society. Every two years, we elect leaders that we send to represent us in municipal, state and federal government. We pay these leaders with our taxes dollars to make decisions about our lives. These leaders write laws, pass budgets, appoint judges, sign trade agreements, and run the government all on our behalf.
That's a lot of power. You can be a part of the process by registering to vote and then getting out to vote on Election Day.
You can register to vote up to 29 days prior to an election. For the August 10th primary, the deadline is July 9. For the November 2nd general election, you must register by October 1st. You must be registered to vote with your current name at your current address.
You may register to vote at the following locations:
+The County Clerk's Office - for a listing of locations please view:
+ The Motor Vehicle Office
+ Any Driver's License Office
+ By mail using a form that you can download and fill out from:
In most elections only about 30% of registered voters participate -- that means your vote carries even more weight.
In order to vote in the primary election, you must be a member of a political party. An unaffiliated voter must declare a party and may do so at the polls on Election Day. However, a voter may not change party affiliation at the polls on Primary Election day. (P.S. A voter that wants to change parties can declare that at least 29 days prior to the Primary.)
Tell me why I should care again?
On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed. It says, in part, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal...Governments are instituted...deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,"
Give your consent to be governed -- Vote!
Earth Temple will now be meeting at Small Gatherings at 66th and Wadsworth. The storefronts that we will be using are located in the small shopping center on the northeast corner of the intersection. The storefronts are toward the east side of the parking lot. There is plenty of parking in the parking area including handicapped parking. There are no stairs involved and we should not have a problem with noise.
We have changed the date of Lammas from Sunday, Aug. 1, to Saturday, July 31. Also Yule is changed from Sunday, Dec. 19, to Saturday, Dec. 18. The schedule for the rest of our rituals is as follows:

If you have something to say, and are willing to let Alia or Catherine edit it slightly, (generally for grammar Ė Alia has the soul of an English teacher and I want to be one) please feel free to submit your writing.†† Content will not be edited.†† We can usually make room for more voices.
