GREETINGS

Memorial Day approaches.  This year we have more things to remember than we have in years past.  Whether you support this war we’re in or you’re against it, please remember our men and women in harm’s way this year.

MAY OPEN FULL MOON

Hearthstone meets the Friday before or the Friday of the Full Moon at the First Unitarian Church at 14th and Lafayette in Denver.  The church doors open at 7, and we like to start at 7:30.  (We are NOT big proponents of Pagan Standard Time, but if there is weather related driving trouble or a problem on the freeway, we've been known to wait a bit longer.

Remember, please, that the policy at Hearthstone is not to enter in Perfect Love and Perfect Trust, as there are people you don't know there, but to enter with a willing heart and an open mind, and leave your differences at the door.

Please join us at this week's OFM for a fun community-building ritual. Be prepared to stand and help us cook up a healthy communicating community. Children are welcome as they are a vital part of our growing community. Please come with an open heart and mind with ideas on what great ingredients for a pagan community are. This ritual is being led by Draconis Leona (aka Annabel Bugg) and put on by a motley crew of people from throughout the community with support from 9 and 3/4's. Post-ritual, we plan to have cakes and wine at a cheap local restaurant and would love for the community to join us in breaking bread, dutch-style. We look forward to seeing you there!

THANKS AND A TIP OF THE HAT

for Late April:

Thanks and a Tip of the Hat to Livy, Rose and Cathy who presented our April 30th Open Full Moon, assisted by the beautiful maidens Caitlin and Kaitlyn.  The theme was connections to one another and the earth, and we cast the circle hand to hand, followed by a meditation. In celebration of Spring we did a wild, laughing spiral dance and raised a spinning sphere of energy that exploded in droplets of cleansing energy that washed and energized us. Thank you Livy, Rose, and Cathy for leading us in joyful celebration!

SUGGESTED DONATION

We have determined that our break-even point is about $4 per person.

We aren’t going to start collecting at the door, and no one will be turned away for not having a donation.  However, we would like to suggest a donation of 4 to 7 dollars per person.  (The extra is to cover the pagans that are unable to donate.)  If you can’t afford it, you are still welcome – if you can afford more, we’d be delighted to accept it.

NOTE:  Hearthstone is a church and your donations to Hearthstone are tax deductible.  If you would like to write a check so you can keep track of your donations, we can certainly handle that as well.

EARTH TEMPLE DATES AND NEW LOCATION

Earth Temple will now be meeting at Small Gatherings at 66th and Wadsworth. The storefronts that we will be using are located in the small shopping center on the northeast corner of the intersection. The storefronts are toward the east side of the parking lot. There is plenty of parking in the parking area including handicapped parking. There are no stairs involved and we should not have a problem with noise.

We have changed the date of Lammas from Sunday, Aug. 1, to Saturday, July 31. Also Yule is changed from Sunday, Dec. 19, to Saturday, Dec. 18. The schedule for the rest of our rituals is as follows:

New Moon/Litha Jun. 19 (Sa)
Dark Moon Jul. 17 (Sa)
Lammas Jul. 31 (Sa)
Waning Moon Aug. 14 (Sa)
Waning Moon Sep. 11 (Sa)
Mabon Sep. 25 (Sa)
New Moon Oct. 16 (Sa)
Samhain Nov. 6 (Sa)
New Moon Nov. 13 (Sa)
Waning Moon Dec. 11 (Sa)

We have not changed our start time. We will still meet at 7pm. Reminders will be sent out prior to each ritual.

GUEST COLUMNS?

If you have something to say, and are willing to let Alia or Catherine edit it slightly, (generally for grammar – Alia has the soul of an English teacher and I want to be one) please feel free to submit your writing.   Content will not be edited.   We can usually make room for more voices.
