Does anyone know exactly when Arbor Day is? These days, it seems like we use the whole month of April to celebrate the greening of the earth. Which, when you think about it is still not quite enough. It is more than we used to do.
We planted trees and sage and even a lilac round our house in the last three weeks. In an amazing trade, we even managed to get some sod. Our yard is beginning to be a place where you can sit and commune with the gods and not be bothered by the rest of the world.
Time to do Snoopy’s happy dance for the spring!
Hearthstone meets the Friday before or the Friday of the Full Moon at the First Unitarian Church at 14th and Lafayette in Denver. This month we have a “blue moon” and will meet again on April 30. The church doors open at 7, and we like to start at 7:30. (We are NOT big proponents of Pagan Standard Time, but if there is weather related driving trouble or a problem on the freeway, we've been known to wait a bit longer.)
The April 30 OFM will be presented by Livy and Rose. The theme for this ritual is Connections. Connections to each other and to the earth. This ritual will be a blending of several different traditions and age groups. It will include a spiral dance and a somewhat long guided meditation. It is a mixture between old and new; young and old. We understand that some will not be able to participate in the dance, but don't let that stop you from joining us -- all energy is welcome and all acts are Her ritual.
Please enter by the main door; you will be challenged as you enter. You may wish to think on the attitude with which you plan to enter the circle.
Thanks and a Tip of The Hat to Kath and friends for our April 2nd OFM, celebrating the return of Spring. Through a flowing ritual of songs, chants and a spiral dance, we experienced the mythological story of the maiden Kore's descent to the underworld, her mother Demeter's grieving, and Kore's return as Persephone. Persephone gave each of us a flower in celebration of her return. "She changes everything She touches, and everything She touches changes." We were encouraged to approach the coming season with joy and hope. Thank you, Kath and friends, for involving us in a powerful retelling of this cherished story of transformation and renewal.
We have determined that our break-even point is about $4 per person.
We aren’t going to start collecting at the door, and no one will be turned away for not having a donation. However, we would like to suggest a donation of 4 to 7 dollars per person. (The extra is to cover the pagans that are unable to donate.) If you can’t afford it, you are still welcome – if you can afford more, we’d be delighted to accept it.
Earth Temple will now be meeting at Small Gatherings at 66th and Wadsworth. The storefronts that we will be using are located in the small shopping center on the northeast corner of the intersection. The storefronts are toward the east side of the parking lot. There is plenty of parking in the parking area including handicapped parking. There are no stairs involved and we should not have a problem with noise.

If you have something to say, and are willing to let Alia or Catherine edit it slightly, (generally for grammar – Alia has the soul of an English teacher and I want to be one) please feel free to submit your writing. Content will not be edited. We can usually make room for more voices.
