Welcome to a new calendar year!  The light is beginning to return, and soon the days will be noticeably longer.  Where I work, I have lots of windows, so I have an opportunity to watch the weather and the people.  I love watching the changes.

Thanks and a Tip of The Hat to Dragonstide and friends, who officiated at our December Open Full Moon.  With a skit and a song (or two or three), Dragonstide led Hearthstone Community Church in a celebration of the season.

From "Deck The Halls" (no word changes required) to the beautiful "God Rest Ye, Gentle Pagan Folk", we sang and laughed and welcomed Yule and the return of the Light.  May all our days be blessed with light, laughter and song!

The January Open Full Moon will be on Friday, January 12, 2001, at 7:30 PM, at the First Unitarian Church, 1400 Lafayette, Denver, CO.  The doors of the church open at 7:00.  We like to begin at 7:30.

We will be doing a very musical ritual this month, celebrating our season of light rituals.

I would like to celebrate this time between Yule and Imbolg with music and some searching.  With the assistance of Hawk Shadow and Richard C. we will do a spiral dance, and celebrate the season with music.

We intend to include several chants including "Beauty Way," "We All Come from the Goddess," "We are the Seed of the Sun God," and "The Earth, The Air, The Fire the Water."  We would love to have your help with these chants.  We will have a semi-guided meditation about this season.

Beauty Way

May I walk in the Beauty Way
Dance upon the sacred path
Always in step
With the rhythm of Mother Earth

We All Come From the Goddess

We all come from the Goddess,
And to her we shall return
Like a drop of rain
flowing to the ocean

We Are the Seed of the Sun God

We are the seed of the Sun God
And like him we shall return
Like a spark of fire
Rising to the heavens.

The Earth, The Air, The Fire, The Water

The earth, the air, the fire, the water
Return, return, return, return
The earth, the air, the fire, the water
return, return, return, return

We have determined that our break-even point is about $3 per person.

We aren’t going to start collecting at the door, and no one will be turned away for not having a donation.  However, we would like to suggest a donation of 3 to 5 dollars per person.  (The extra is to cover the pagans that can’t swing $3.)  If you can’t afford it, you are still welcome – if you can afford more, we’d be delighted to accept it.

NOTE:  Hearthstone is a church and your donations to Hearthstone are tax deductible.  If you would like to write a check so you can keep track of your donations, we can certainly handle that as well.  And if it simpler to write a check occasionally rather than come up with a few bucks every month, believe me, we understand!
